The hair cycle goes through periods of growth and decline and an average loss of 100 hairs a day is normal, but if the drop is higher than usual, it is likely that a moderate or severe baldness is starting. This is particularly common in men older than 30 years, requiring an early effective hair loss treatment

Each hair passes through a stage of growth, “anagen phase”, by a stage of inactivity or rest, called “telogen phase” and by a drop phase or “catagen phase”
